Essential Requirements:
-- Recent experience in Prestigious Foreign/Local Organization
-- Recent experience of working with the Media
-- Recent experience in roles related to Communications OR Media OR Related Area
-- About 10 years or more work experience
Position Purpose:
-- The incumbent will be heading the Communication Department in Company Pakistan, liaising with
Group Communications on the same, working with Top Management as their Media Advisor. The
Director is also the Company Main Media Person and Press Spokesperson.
Education:
-- Preferably MBA, Marketing, PR, Advertising agency
Skills and Knowledge:
-- Prior experience in management position with strong interpersonal & leadership skills.
-- Strong negotiation and analytical skills
-- Good interpersonal skills
-- Good presentation skills
-- Good communication skills in Urdu & English (both verbal & written)
-- Strong understanding of media in Pakistan and relationing
-- Strong understanding of Telecom business and relevant challenges
-- Good understanding of employee engagement and leadership communication
-- Good understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility and large scale projects
-- Excellent computer knowledge in general and specifically in Microsoft Office products.
Key Responsibilities:
-- The Communication Division is responsible for Reputation Management of the organization.
-- The Communication Division has the responsibility for internal and external non-paid communication.
-- This covers internal, electronically based information (intranet) company @work as part of the
international corporate intranet solution and local magazine.
-- The Press Center covers all interactive press handling (press events, Press Releases, updated
information) nationally as well as internationally.
-- Main Corporate Events also requires high degree of involvement by the Director
-- Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives for the organization are also conceived / implemented by the Director
Key Performance Requirements:
-- The Director must have deep understanding of reputation management and demonstrable ability to
strategically implement reputational elements.
-- The Director must be a clearly visible, presentable, highly qualified and well known and respected
person by the media in Pakistan.
-- The Director must show good performance as media advisor or Communication Director/Manager in a
highly respected company.
-- Since company is an international, public listed company, the Director must be presentable and
comparable to our international Director standard.
-- Language skills are important. High Urdu and English are conditional.
-- Management experience is also expected and good skills in social interactions with all levels of the
company.
-- High degree of local acceptance and understanding with a well developed interpersonal network in
Pakistan.
-- Knowledge of telecom sector and its challenges will be a plus
-- Understanding / implementation of employee engagement initiatives is required
-- Strong understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility and a vision for longer term strategic CSR is a
must.
