We are looking for candidates for the position of Assistant Manager Technical Services for a Large Independent Power Plant (IPP) company

Essential Requirements:
-- About 5 to 7 years total work experience -- with minimum 3 years in IPP (Independent Power Plant)
-- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering
-- Experience in Operations/Maintenance departments of a) power plants or b) large industrial process plants having gas turbine or steam turbine
Specific Competencies:
1. Effectively applies condition monitoring techniques to ensure maximum availability of critical equipment.
2. Is sought out to provide advice or solution for improvement of equipment condition and machinery health.
3. Understanding of vibration analysis software such as Bentley Nevada System 1 and ENTEK Emonitor.
4. Effectively calculating plant performance and heat rate by computing the parameters.
5. Preparing Gas Turbine Factored fired hours, shutdown & trips data for outage planning.
6. Well versed with Integrated Management Systems which includes ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.
Education:
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering from HEC recognized institution
Experience:
Having at least 5-7 years related experience in operations, maintenance departments of combined cycle power plants/large industrial process plants having gas turbine and steam turbine.
The candidate should have understanding of key performance indicators and their effectiveness.
Purpose of job:
Efficient and cost effective management and delivery of a performance/ condition monitoring
Responsibilities:
1. Developing and maintaining reliability programs for on line condition monitoring with potential risk assessment of critical equipment to minimize downtime or unexpected forced outage, using latest on line monitoring and predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermal scans, process control limits with excursion information.
2. Basis on equipment condition/histories and costs, providing input to operation and maintenance annual plans, budgets as well as to capital replacement and upgrade projects in order to attain required future availability and reliability levels.
3. Investigating Operation/Maintenance related problems and suggesting viable alternatives to plant equipment or procedures modifications to assure plant safety, efficiency and environmental compliance.
4. Providing engineering expertise in the design, application, operation, inspection and maintenance of rotating equipment, pressure piping and vessels.
5. Coordinating with Maintenance / Operations for Scheduled Outages planning.
6. Monitoring plant thermal performance and suggesting viable means of improving performance.
7. Preparing various plant performance & HSE related reports on specified intervals and their circulation.
8. Providing technical support to accounts team on insurance claim process and cover renewals.
9. Coordinating insurance survey at site and implementation of its recommendations.
10. Preparing departmental budget and as well providing input to annual operating plan & budget for the complex.
11. Administrating Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) especially with respect to computation of liquidated damages for plant planned, forced outages and discrepancies in dispatch levels.
12. Other duties as and when assigned by the Line Manager.
QHSE Responsibilities:
1. Lead by example and demonstrate through their actions that QHSE Policy Compliance is a line management responsibility. Promote a QHSE aware culture within their team(s).
2. Cooperate in the implementation and continual improvement of the IMS.
3. Monitor and conduct work activities in such a way as to ensure, in so far as is reasonably practicable, the Safety and Health of their staff, and care for the Environment.
4. Notify TSD Manager of any QHSE issues or training requirements for either themselves or their subordinates.
5. Attend and ensure subordinates attend any QHSE relevant training provided for their up skilling.
6. Ensure that all assets are maintained to a condition that complies with all QHSE requirements.
7. Employ only competent contractors appropriate to the task and ensure that they follow all identified controls as per the IMS.
8. Liaise with 3rd parties (authorities, contractors) on QHSE related issues.
9. Maintain proper PPE, specific to their work area, and ensure their subordinates do similar.
10. Ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the place of work, the means or access thereto, or egress there from, and any article or substance provided for use in the place of work, are safe and without risk to human health, or the environment.
11. Identify and allocate resources for HS&E.
12. Incorporate QHSE as a key part of their regular team briefings and meetings, and incorporate QHSE performance objectives in the staff performance review system.
13. Implement and enforce Risk Assessment Process with all staff and ensure correctional requirements identified are executed.
14. Coordinate Emergency Preparedness and Response within the company.
