Duties and Responsibilities:

 

The role of the successful candidate will be to undertake and/or lead challenging research and innovation work and engage in applied research and technology down streaming projects supported by ETISALAT and BT.

The successful candidate will take part in and/or lead an ambitious program that aims at developing the next generation network enabled ICT solutions and services based on advanced computing and software engineering techniques. This program covers different areas such as predictive business intelligence, intelligent customer analytics, customer co-creation, social networking, advanced resource management (forecasting, scheduling, planning, appointing), network optimisation and performance analysis, service oriented architecture, Cloud computing and Green ICT.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified to MSc/PhD level with majors in computer science/engineering, software engineering, telecom engineering, artificial intelligence, or other pertinent specializations.
  • Research and development experience in one or more of following areas:
    • Machine learning techniques.
    • Soft computing (such as Neural Networks, Fuzzy Systems, or Neuro-Fuzzy Methods).
    • Bayesian networks or other statistical or probabilistic reasoning techniques.
    • Distributed/Parallel computing
    • Database and in-memory caching technologies. Optimisation techniques such as meta-heuristics for combinatorial optimisation problems.
    • Temporal and distributed inference techniques.
    • Applications of semantic web technologies.
    • Social network manipulation and management, user generated content understanding and Web 2.0 technology.
  • Experience in the implementation of enterprise wide software solutions.
  •  Experience of program and project management.
  • Ability to work in a team and leadership skills for collaborative work. Commitment to work in a highly customer-oriented organisation and to support ETISALAT's and BT's objectives and challenges as customer-centric global communications service providers.
  •  Demonstrating imaginative and creative innovation in the context of business ICT problems.
  •  An inquiring mind with a preference for working within less defined boundaries, creativity, self motivation and good written and oral communication skills in English, and must be passionate about achieving excellent results.
