ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Provide advice, guidance and support to the Operations Shift Supervisor in resolving operating problems and optimizing/monitoring conditions for the assurance of unit reliability and uninterrupted supply of the product through application of practical experience and technical know-how;
• Monitor all aspects of Operations to ensure all operational parameters are met for the smooth and efficient operations and total reliability of the plant;
• Provide Shift Supervisors with advice and support in the review of all current procedures for meeting operational objectives and making changes in procedures for the safe and efficient running of the plant;
• Enhance operational processes through process design improvements in order to improve productivity or reduce costs;

• Provide advice and support in co-ordination of preventive and turnaround maintenance jobs in order to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the plant;
• Co-ordinate and participate with Engineering and Technical Services Departments in HAZOP and other studies;
• Co-ordinate all activities related to major Plant overhaul, emergency plant shutdown, start up and catalyst change etc. in specific areas of the plant in line with standard operating procedures;
• Ensure that on the job training is provided to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills to the required operational standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Qualifications:
• Science (Chemistry or Petrochemical) Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with sound technical, process safety and TQM knowledge.
Experience & Skill Requirements:
• At least 15 years of hands on experience preferably in Acrylic Acid and/ or Acrylate Operations;
• Experience in Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of Acrylic Acid and/ or Acrylate Plants;
• Skills in monitoring petrochemical plants involving ethylene oxidation, distillation, separation as well as esterification;
• Should have participated in Turn Around and Predictive Maintenance of plants handling highly corrosive and hazardous material;
• Excellent English communication and PC Skills required.
