We are looking for candidates for 2 positions with a Large Multinational Media Company
Company Sector: Media
Company Type: Large Multinational Media Company (This is the leading
media group in Afghanistan)
Location: Kabul, Afghanistan
Salary for both positions: $ 5,000 (US Dollars) + full accommodation,
food, office related transport, etc., 36 holidays per year + Eid/public
holidays, 3 flights back home
Position 1: Manager Corporate Finance
Position 2: Manager Planning, Analysis & Budgeting
Both positions report to the CFO

no significant security incident. Company provides pick and drop from
guest houses. Company has a security team of more than 100 people.
Company feels situation in Kabul is not as bad as media suggests
(Expats frequently visit top restaurants/hotels).

Position 1: Manager Corporate Finance
Essential Requirements:
-- Total work experience 10 years,
-- 4 to 5 years of post qualification experience
-- ACCA, CA, CIMA, etc, or other Accounting qualification (no MBA Finance or MBA, etc.)
-- Experience related to managing accounting/preparing financial reports
[Note: This position requires reporting anything finance-related, to the senior management]
-- Excellent English Communication skills (position requires interaction with International staff from Western countries).
-- Experience of any sector except banking
Scope of work:
· Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
· Implement a regular and timely close process across all businesses.
· Provide business focused strategic financial advice and
corporate financial reporting that assists the deployment of financial
resources in the most effective way in order to achieve business
objectives.
· Develop strong business relationships with all key external
stakeholders, such as customers, auditors, MoF, Banks.
· Play an active role in the development and implementation of
all financial systems and procedures ensuring effectiveinternal
controls.
· Ensuring the continued efficiency, effectiveness, integrity
and business focus of financial systems & processes.
· Develop a best in class Corporate Finance team, and build the
reputation of Finance across our businesses to that of an essential
business partner
· Monitor and streamline the billing & recovery systemand ensure
timely recovery of receivables.
· Develop procedures to maximize the number of suppliers
providing credit to the Group and to maximize the credit terms.
· Overhaul the petty cash function
· Any other duties as deemed necessary and agreed upon from time
to time with the Group Financial Controller.
Position 2: Manager Planning, Analysis & Budgeting
Essential Requirements:

Scope of Work:
· Develop, implement and co-ordinate the group master budget.
· Develop, implement and co-ordinate an on-going forecasting
mechanism for all Afghan operations
· Provide training and support to the business managers in
relation to the budgeting and planning process and ensure their active
involvement in the development of forecasts related to their
respective divisions.
· Liaise with the business managers to define the mechanism of
transfer pricing for the intra-group transfers of goods and services.
· Coordinate with the business managers to prepare and update
the capital expenditure budget for company businesses in Afghanistan.
· Coordinate withCommercial Finance to ascertain the cost
drivers for activity-based absorption of overheads into different
profit centers.
· Implement, monitor and evaluate budget policies and procedures
and make recommendations as necessary.
· Research, analyze, evaluate, and develop findings and make
recommendations involving complex budget and financial management
issues.
· Process the budget approvals and any deviations from the
approved budgets.
· Develop a best in class Planning, Analysis and Budgeting
Finance team, and build the reputation of Finance across our
businesses to that of an essential business partner
· Prepare periodic budgetary reports including variance and
gapanalysis and circulate them to the senior management and the
respective business managers.
· Any other duties as deemed necessary and agreed upon from time
to time with the CFO and Group Financial Planning & Analysis function.
