› Assistant Manager Risk and Compliance Required
The incumbent will be
responsible for:
- Developing
annual risk and compliance activity plans and prioritization of these
plans based on a risk analysis which includes consideration of the
University’s goals and objectives and the concerns of management and the
board & other stake holders.
- Ensure
reliability and integrity of entity wide financial and operating process
and controls and the means used to identify measure, classify and report
information on its effectiveness.
- Providing Risk
evaluation & compliance coverage that consistently meets the needs
and expectations of management.
- Following up
on identified weaknesses, findings and recommendations from previous
Internal / External audit work and compliance reviews.
- Ensure compliance
with policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations that could have a
significant impact on the entity.
- Participating
in a program of quality assurance designed to ensure the increasing
professionalism of the departments and standard of the work performed.
- Investigating
potential violations of laws, regulations, and policies.
- Ensure the
means of safeguarding assets and verifying their existence.
- Verify the
economy and the efficiency with which resources are employed.
- Verify the
extent to which the operations and programs of the entity are consistent
with its objectives and goals.
- Verify the
extent to which information technology governance sustains and supports
the University’s strategies and objectives.
- Evaluate the
potential for fraud and the management of fraud risk.
- Work closely
with Human Resources when appropriate to address issues of noncompliance
and violations of laws, regulations and policies.
- Establishing a
confidential safe harbor to receive and direct compliance issues for
investigation and resolution.
- Any other
tasks that are assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- CA / ACMA /
CIMA or MBA in Finance with minimum four to five years’ experience in a
large national or multinational organization.
- Good knowledge
of international accounting standards.
- Good knowledge
of accounting principles.
- Strong
analytical skills.
- Excellent
interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in
use of computer packages specially MS Office.
