Assistant Manager Risk and Compliance Required

The incumbent will be responsible for: Developing annual risk and compliance activity plans and prioritization of these plans based on a risk analysis which includes consideration of the University’s goals and objectives and the concerns of management and the board & other stake holders. Ensure reliability and integrity of entity wide financial and operating process and controls and the means used to identify measure, classify and report information on its effectiveness. Providing Risk evaluation & compliance coverage that consistently meets the needs and expectations of management. Following up on identified weaknesses, findings and recommendations from previous Internal / External audit work and compliance reviews. Ensure compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations that could have a significant impact on the entity. Participating in a program of quality assurance designed to ensure the increasing professionalism of the departments and standard of the work performed. Investigating potential violations of laws, regulations, and policies. Ensure the means of safeguarding assets and verifying their existence. Verify the economy and the efficiency with which resources are employed. Verify the extent to which the operations and programs of the entity are consistent with its objectives and goals. Verify the extent to which information technology governance sustains and supports the University’s strategies and objectives. Evaluate the potential for fraud and the management of fraud risk. Work closely with Human Resources when appropriate to address issues of noncompliance and violations of laws, regulations and policies. Establishing a confidential safe harbor to receive and direct compliance issues for investigation and resolution. Any other tasks that are assigned from time to time. Requirements CA / ACMA / CIMA or MBA in Finance with minimum four to five years’ experience in a large national or multinational organization. Good knowledge of international accounting standards. Good knowledge of accounting principles. Strong analytical skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficiency in use of computer packages specially MS Office.
