Compliance Officer - UAE

COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Overall Position Purpose:
  • The job holder will be directly responsible for developing and reviewing policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance function.
Major Accountabilities:

  • Act as an independent review and evaluation body to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved
  • Conduct quarterly Compliance Audit and allocating compliance score based on regulatory and operational risk of various assessment units
  • Review of Regulator's Circulars & Notifications and conceptualizing and facilitating their implementation within the organization
  • Ensure guidelines laid down in UAE Directives on Procedures for AML and Combating Terrorism Financing through Insurance Activities -Board of Directors Resolutions is followed
  • Fraud reporting to Senior Management and Auditors
  • Monitors the performance of the Compliance Program and relates activities
  • on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
Selection Criteria:
  • University degree in Business Management, Finance, Law, Insurance, Statistics, Economics, Commerce or a similar academic qualification
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in the fields of Compliance and Transparency
  • UAE Nationals will be preferred
  • Good knowledge of UAE law/regulations and culture
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English languages is required
  • Knowledge on Computer Applications
  • Have a strong personality to be a trusted advisor
  • Should be able to communicate and present ideas and training to audience
